1624 - Resolution - Planning Commissioners and Updated Comprehensive PlanRESOLUTION NO. 1624 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASH INGTON AUTHORIZING ADDITIONAL TEMPORARY NON-RESIDENT PLANNING OOMMISSION MEMBERS TO PROVIDE FOR CONTINUITY OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN UPDATED COMPREHENSIVE PLAN. WHEREAS, the City Council has directed the City Planning Commission to update the City of Port Orchard Comprehensive Plan, and WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard Planning Commission has been diligently working since approximately 1990 to update the City of Port Orchard Comprehensive Plan for Council consideration, and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1566 sets forth that the City of Port Orchard Planning Commission is comprised of eight (8) members, seven (7) of whom are city residents and one (1) may.be a non-resident, EXCEPT the Mayor and City Council may by Council Resolution temporarily extend the appointment of a commissioner who during their term Moves out of the city to provide for continuity of specific projects or planning processes. The council resolution may extend or make special appointments to provide for continuity of specific projects or planning processes, and WHEREAS, in December of 1992 it is anticipated that Planning Commissioner Ken Davis will be moving outside of the current city limits, Planning Commissioner Doug Eide will be moving to another residence outside of the city limits during 1993, and WHEREAS, it is perceived that a change in Planning Commission membership at this time would be detrimental to the continuity of the planning process to update the comprehensive plan. NOW, THEREFORE, at the request of the Mayor of the City of Port Orchard, the Port Orchard City Council does approve and grant an exception as provided in Ordinance No. 1566 and does approve Planning Commissioners Ken Davis and Doug Eide to remain on the Planning Commission as non-residents until such time as the comprehensive plan is updated.
