A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON ENDORSING THE CONCEPT OF KITSAP
COUNTY AS AN ENTITLEMENT COUNTY IN THE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, The county and city governments in Kitsap
County actively seek means to improve the quality of life for its
citizens, particularly those families of low to moderate income;
and
WHEREAS, In order to better accommodate the larger
demands from the increasing population of the region, the local
governments are seeking means to cooperate and coordinate; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of the region would be better
served by having Kitsap County designated as an Entitlement
County in the Community Development Block Grant Program;
THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ORCHARD DOES HERESY RESOLVE THAT:
The City of Port Orchard strongly endorses the
designation of Kitsap County as an Entitlement County; and
The City of Port Orchard shall participate in the
program and its management in order to assist the low and
moderate income families throughout the cities and county.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port
Orchard, APPROVED by the Mayor and attested by the Clerk in
authentication of such passage this 14th day of October, 1991.
