A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, APPROVING THE CITY OF PORT
ORCHARD SHORELINE MASTER PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard recognizes the
unique nature of its shoreline and urban waterfront, and the
importance of its proper management, and
WHEREAS, the City created a new Shoreline Master Program
to guide and manage development activity along its shoreline, and
WHEREAS, a citizens advisory committee was formed to
create new shoreline related goals, objectives, policies and
regulations, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has held numerous public study
sessions on the development of a new Shoreline Master Program
over the past 12 months, and
WHEREAS, two public hearings were held on June 10, 1991
and September 23, 1991 and advertised in accordance to WAC 173-
16-040 (e)(i).
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Port Orchard hereby adopts on October 14, 1991, the
goals, policies and regulations contained within the newly formed
City of Port Orchard Shoreline Master Program.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port
Orchard, APPROVED by the Mayor and attested by the Clerk in
authentication of such passage this 14th day of October, 1991.
