A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD
ADOPTING THE COMPREHENSIVE SOLID WASTE
MANAGEMENT PLAN.
WHEREAS, All the Cities in Kitsap County have joined
with Kitsap County to manage solid waste in a coordinated manner,
and
WHEREAS, the lead agency is Kitsap County which has
recently completed the Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan
dated May 1990 which provides the basis for future management
decisions concerning solid wastes, and
WHEREAS, the City agrees mostly with the recommendations
of the Plan with the major exception that the plan has failed to
recommend mandatory garbage collection for all urban areas,
THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD
HEREBY RESOLVES:
1. The City of Port Orchard adopts the May 1990
Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan, and
2. The City of Port Orchard encourages the County
Commissioners to reduce the illegal dumping which is occuring
throughout the County by having mandatory garbage collection in all
urban areas.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard,
APPROVED by the Mayor and attested by the Clerk in authentication
of such passage this 29th day of May, 1990.
