1394 - Resolution - Applications for Funding Assistance for Outdoor Recreation ProjectRESOLUTION NO. 1394 , / A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD AUTH- ORIZING APPLICATIONS FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE FOR AN OUTDOOR RECREATION PROJECT TO THE IN- TERAGENCY COMMITTEE FOR OUTDOOR RECREATION AS PROVIDED BY THE MARINE RECREATION LAND ACT. WHEREAS, The City council of the City of Port Orchard has approved a "Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Plan" for the urban area which identifies an observation deck on Sinclair Inlet; and WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Marine Recreation Land Act, state and federal funding assistance has been authorized and made available to aid in financing the cost of land for parks and the construction of out- door recreational facilities of local public bodies; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Orchard considers it in the best public interest to acquire an observation deck generally located at the Marina Pump Station. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, Washington, 1. That the mayor be authorized to make formal application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation for fund assistance, 2. That any fund assistance so received be used in the design and construction of the observation deck, 3. That the city's share for the project will be derived from the sale of bonds and current expense funds, 4. That any property acquired with financial aid through the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Rec- reation be placed in use as an outdoor recreation facility and be retained in such use in perpetuity unless as otherwise provided and agreed to by the City Council, the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation, and any affected federal agency, and 5. That this resolution become part of a formal application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation. RESOLUTION NO. Page 2 6. That adequate notification has been given and opportunity provided for public input and that published notices have identified affected flood plain and/or wetlands, if applicable.
