1351 - Resolution - Updaing Comp Plan MapRESOLUTION NO. 1351` A RESOLUTON OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD UPDATING THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN MAP TO INCLUDE 15 PROPERTIES ON BETHEL AVENUE ANNEXED INTO THE CITY LIMITS OF PORT ORCHARD BY ORDINANCE NO. 1238 WHEREAS, the Port Orchard City Council did - on August 8, 1983 annex 15 properties that lie contiguous to the east side of Bethel south from the city limits to the north side of Lincoln Avenue, Ordinance No. 1238, and WHEREAS, a Comprehensive Plan Map designation is needed to provide for property land use within the best public interest, and WHEREAS, the Port Orchard Planning Commission has held the required Public Hearing to consider testimony and materials relative to comprehensive zoning designation, and have submitted their Facts of Finding and conclusions to the Port Orchard City Council as set forth in Planning Commission Resolution NO. 038-84 as attached. NOW, THEREFORE., the City Council of the City of Port Orchard do hereby resolve that the 15 properties that lie contiguous to the east side of Bethel Avenue south of the city limits to the north side of Lincoln Avenue annexed into the city limits by Ordinance No. 1238 are designated on the "Comprehensive Zoning Map" as Commercial General. Lloyd, City erk PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 038-84 A RESOLUTION BY THE PORT ORCHARD PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDING A COMPREHENSIVE ZONING DESIGNATION FOR THE PROPERTY ANNEXED BY CITY OF PORT ORCHARD ORDINANCE NO. 1238. WHEREAS, the City has both the power and the duty to update the Comprehensive Plan Map as it becomes necessary, and WHEREAS, the Port Orchard Planning Commission, after survey, investigation and study, recognizing the importance of the existing natural resources, exisiting land uses, and the economic trends which affect the City of Port Orchard, and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on 19 March 1984 and that the Planning Commission considered the testimony and materials presented at the hearing: FINDINGS OF FACT On 8 August 1983 the City of Port Orchard annexed 15 properties that lie con- tiguous to the east side of Bethel south of the city limits to the north side of Lincoln Avenue. That the City of Port Orchard does not have a comprehensive plan map designation for the above property That the proposed designation of commercial general is geographically compre- hensive and reflective of the present growth patterns of the city. The proposed designation is in harmony with utility plans, population densities, existing land uses and econmoic trends. CONCLUSION, Based on the findings of fact and the testimony and materials presented at the public hearing we therefore, conclude that the proposed resolution is needed to provide for property land use and -to be within the best public interest. BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Port Orchard is hereby respectfully requested to designate on the comprehensive plan map the above annexation as commercial general.
