1742 - Ordinance - Property Taxes for 1999ORDINANCE NO. 1742 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON SETTING THE AMOUNT OF PROPERTY TAXES TO BE RAISED FOR THE YEAR 1999 THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: THAT: Notice was given for the public hearing on revenue sources held October 26, 1998 to consider the City of Port Orchard's current expense and street budget for the 1999 calendar year, pursuant to RCW 84.55.120; and THAT: The City of Port Orchard, with a population under 10,000, retains the ability to raise taxes up to six percent; and THAT: The following amounts are to be set for property taxes for the year 1999 and it is the desire that the maximum amount allowed be collected: Section 1. There is hereby authorized a discretionary increase in the 1999 regular property tax levy, plus an additional dollar amount equal to the amount allowed under the new construction, improvements to property and any increase in the value of state -assessed property, by provisions of RCW 84.55.010, in the amount of $61,369, which is a percentage increase of 6 percent from the $1,022,822 levied for collection in 1998.The total is at least $1,123,386. Section 2. There is hereby authorized an increase in the 1999 Emergency Medical Services property tax levy from the $151,530 levied for collection in 1998. The maximum computed is $.50 of the assessed value with the total being at least $166,429.
