AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1365 RELATING TO
THE ESTABLISHING A SPECIAL INVESTIGATIVE
UNIT (SIU) IMPREST FUND
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That there is hereby established an
Imprest Fund for the sole purpose of law enforcement
undercover operations for the City of Port Orchard Police
Department. The Imprest Fund hereby established shall be
known as "Special Investigative Unit (SIU) Imprest Fund" and
will be maintained at the Kitsap County Bank as a checking
account, and confidential investigative expenses and
purchases will be by check. The Police Chief is hereby
designated Custodian of the fund thus established.
Section 2. The Police Chief is hereby authorized
to maintain a balance of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) in
the Imprest Fund. The Imprest Fund must be replenished by
warrant, to the custodian, monthly and at the end of the
fiscal year.
Section 3. The Imprest Fund may not be used for
personal cash advances/loans. The Fund must be used for the
City's purposes only. If used other than for official
business purposes, it shall be considered a misappropriation
of public funds.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port
Orchard, signed by the Mayor and attested by the Clerk in
authentication of such passage this 12th day of September,
