1275 - Ordinance - Amending Ordinance No. 1141 RE POMC 15.28.090 Installation of Fire HydrantsORDINANCE NO. 1275.,/ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1141 SECTION 2 PORT ORCHARD MUNICIPAL CODE 15.28.090 RELATING TO THE INSTALLATION OF FIRE HYDRANTS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Ordinance No. 1141, Section 2 Subsection 15.28.090 is amended to read as follows: 15.28.090 Hydrant Workmanship_ (a) All hydrant shall stand plumb and be set with the lowest outlet of the hydrant not less than eighteen (18) inches above grade. (b) Each hydrant shall be equpped with two 22' inch outlets and a steamer port with 412.inch outlet National Standard Thread. The steamer port shall also be equipped with 5" Storz quarter turn coupling complete with cover. EXCEPTION: When it is determined by the Fire Chief and the City Engineer that the Storz coupling is no benefit to the Fire Department, this requirement may be waived, and a standard 41 inch National Standard Thread steamer port be allowed. (c) The steamer port shall face the street. Where the street cannot be clearly defined, the fire authority will determine the appropriate alignment of the ports. (d) There shall be a cleared and level area around the hydrant with a minimum radius of thirty six (36) inches. PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED by the Mayor this 14th day of May, 1984.
