AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 959

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 959 (Port
Orchard Municipal Code Section 7.08.060) is hereby amended
to read as follows:
7.08.060 Redemption of dog. The owner of any dog
impounded pursuant to the provisions of this chapter may
redeem such dog within forty-eight hours from the time of
impounding by payment of any unpaid licensing fee, plus an
impound fee of ten dollars for the first violation, twenty
dollars for the second violation, thirty dollars for the
third violation and forty dollars for the forth or each
subsequent violation within a twelve month period, plus a
kennel fee of two dollars. If such dog is not redeemed
within forty-eight hours from the time of impounding, the
owner may redeem such dog within seventy-two hours from
the time of impounding upon payment of any unpaid licensing
fee, the impounding fee, plus the kennel fee of two dollars
per day. If such dog is not redeemed within seventy-two
hours from the time of impounding it may be held for redemption
by the owner upon payment of any unpaid licensing fees, the
impounding fee, and a kennel fee of two dollars per day, or,
at the discretion of the impounding authority, such dog may
be humanely destroyed or otherwise disposed of.

Mayor of the City of Port Orchard this 27th day of April, 1981.
