1138 - Ordinance - Special Election for Six-Year TaxORDINANCE NO. 1138 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CALLING OF A SPECIAL ELECTION OF THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD FOR SEPTEMBER 16, 1980, PURSUANT TO RCW 84.52.069, TO LEVY A SIX YEAR TAX ESTIMATED AT $.25 PER THOUSAND OF ASSESSED VALUATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING PORT ORCHARD'S SHARE OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Port Orchard finds that it is necessary to levy a tax estimated at $.25 per thousand of assessed valuation for each of the years 1981-1986 in addition to the regular $3.375 per thousand of assessed valuation allowed by law, for the purpose of paying Port Orchard's share of Emergency Medical Services for the City of Port Orchard. NOW, THEREFORE, be it, and hereby is ordained by the Council of the City of Port Orchard as follows: Section 1. That there be submitted to the qualified electors of the City of Port Orchard, at the Primary Election to be held September 16, 1980, in all precincts within said City the proposition whether the City Council shall be authorized to levy a tax estimated at $.25 per thousand of assessed valuation for each of the years 1981-1986, in addition to the regular $3.375 per thousand of assessed valuation allowed by law, in an amount sufficient to raise funds for each of the years 1981-1986 for the purpose of paying Port Orchard's share of Emergency Medical Services for the City of Port Orchard. Section 2. That the Clerk of the City of Port Orchard be and he hereby is authorized to certify to the Kitsap County Auditor the propositions to be voted on by the electors at said election: PROPOSITION Shall the City Council of the City of Port Orchard be authorized to levy an additional tax estimated at $.25 per thousand of assessed valuation for each of the years 1981-1986, sufficient to raise funds each year, for the purpose of paying Port Orchard's share of 1981-1986 Emergency Medical Services for the City of Port Orchard. YES NO Section 3. That the said City Council hereby requests the Kitsap County Auditor to give the Notice of Special Election and to supervise the details thereof; that this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after it's passage and publication according to law.
