WHEREAS, the Soroptimist lnternational Club of South Kitsap County was chartered on
March 23, L945 by the Soroptimist lnternational Club of Bremerton; and
WHEREAS, the Soroptimist lnternational Club of South Kitsap County became Soroptimist
lnternational of Port Orchard on July L3, t974; and
WHEREAS, Soroptimist lnternational of Port Orchard has been a civic leader throughout its
history; and
WHEREAS, Soroptimist lnternational of Port Orchard is part of a global volunteer
organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to
achieve economic empowerment; and
WHEREAS, Soroptimist lnternationa! is celebrating its 75th anniversary in our community;
and
NOW THEREFORE, BE !T resolved that l, Robert Putaansuu, Mayor of the City of Port
Orchard, do hereby proclaim March 2O2O as:
Soroptimist Internationa! of Port Orchard Month
in the City of Port Orchard, and I call upon all employees and citizens of the City of Port Orchard to
observe this month with appropriate recognition whereof.
