November 7, 2018-Jedi's Special DayPROCLAMATION
WHEREAS: Pediatric cancer affects thousands of young Americans each year, but today we
are here to honor one special three-year-old boy from Port Orchard, Jedi Minters; and
WHEREAS: Jedi has been fighting leukemia for the last year and a half; and
WHEREAS: Today we honor Jedi and all those who have been impacted by his illness.
We're here today to support the loved ones who know the pain cancer causes and to support their
family, friends and neighbors during difficult times; and
WHEREAS: Let us also acknowledge those on the front lines - the health care providers,
researchers, community organizations, emergency responders, and advocacy groups - who work
tirelessly to make a difference; and
WHEREAS: We share in the commitment to support advanced research, improving
treatment, and ensuring a brighter, healthier future for all; and
WHEREAS: But most importantly let's recognize Jedi and his courageousness and
unwavering strength each and every single day.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE T RESOLVED that l, Robert Putaansuu, Mayor of the City of Port Orchard,
do hereby proclaim November 7,2018 as:
Jedi's Special Day
in the City of Port Orchard and I our its citizens to join me in this special observance.
