April 29, 2017-Port Orchard Community Service DayPROCLAMATION WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard is excited to announce the Port Orchard Community Service Day on Saturday, April 29, 2017 starting at 10:00 a.m.; and WHEREAS, throughout Port Orchard's history churches, fraternal organizations and service clubs have made numerous improvements making Port Orchard a better place. By all of us coming together on a single day we can really make a tremendous difference in the beatification of our city; and WHEREAS, the designated locations for the improvements will be at; City Hall, Etta Turner Park, Clayton (Central) Park, Givens Playground, and the Shoreline in front of the Westbay Center. Pick your project or start at one and visit each site throughout the day to help clean up the shoreline, pull weeds, and spread various landscape material; and WHEREAS, the city is encouraging all citizens to participate in helping to beautify our city by bringing your gloves and tools needed to get the job done. If you can't participate at one of these projects, citizens are encouraged to come together throughout the city to clean up your neighborhoods, local park or other community areas; and NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert Putaansuu, Mayor of the City of Port Orchard, do hereby proclaim April 29th, 2017 as: PORT ORCHARD COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY in the City of Port Orchard and call upon all citizens to volunteer their time in whatever way they can during this day with appropriate recognition whereof.
